Perché una mostra per un libro che si mostra nella liturgia

A partire dalla solennità di San Carlo Borromeo e fino all’11 dicembre 2011, prima domenica dell’Avvento ambrosiano, si è tenuta nel Palazzo Reale di Milano, presso la chiesa di San Raffaele e la Galleria del Centro San Fedele, l’esposizione delle tavole che hanno poi composto l’Evangeliario originale destinato all’officiatura solenne in Cattedrale. La mostra si apriva con alcuni libri liturgici, pagine di Evangeliari e coperte preziose, quale rimando alla preziosità del lavoro che ha ornato il testo del Vangelo. Seguivano poi tutte le pagine del volume sulle quali gli artisti avevano realizzato le loro opere. Nella mostra un video mostrava l’uso liturgico del libro dei Vangeli sia nella celebrazione eucaristica che in alcuni altri riti.

Since the feast of Saint Charles Borromeo until the 11th December 2011, first Ambrosian Advent Sunday, at Royal Palace in Milan, by Saint Raphael’s church and the Gallery of St. Fedele centre, an exhibition has been held, where were presented all tables that have later composed the original Evangeliary, which was destined to serve in the solemn divine services of the Cathedral. The exhibition opened with some liturgical books, pages of other Evangeliaries and precious cover pages, that were a reference to the precious work required for decorating the Gospel text. Then were presented all pages of the book, in which the artists had achieved their works. During the exhibition a video showed the liturgical use of the Gospels Book both in the Eucharistic celebration and in some other rites.
