Descrizione
This guide describes the various stages of the construction of the Mole Antonelliana and in particular its extraordinary growth in height, up to 167 metres, when its daring and brilliant architect broke the record for masonry constructions.
This guide also describes the developments that occurred throughout the twentieth century: from the debates over the decor in the early 1900s and the consolidation works in reinforced concrete between 1930 and 1941, to the reconstruction of the spire completed in 1961.
Lastly, the guide illustrates the building’s current state after the conservative restoration intervention carried out after the Mole was designated seat of the National Cinema Museum.
