Sommario – L’obbedienza sperimentata da Francesco d’Assisi e le indicazioni al riguardo presenti nei suoi scritti sono una delle realtà spirituali più frequentemente considerate da diversi autori. La presente riflessione, con una particolare attenzionealle peculiarità semantico-filologiche, può aiutare a scoprire la dinamica internadell’atto di obbedienza. Risulta importante la lettura della descrizione dell’atteggiamentodi Gesù di fronte al Padre prima della passione, presente nella seconda,più ampia, recensione della Lettera ai fedeli. Il modo di raccontare l’evento svelainfatti la peculiarità del come Francesco vede il rapporto di Gesù con il Padre. Inquesto contesto un particolare signifi cato acquista la relazione agiografi ca offertada Tommaso da Celano riguardante l’esperienza del giovane Francesco in cercadella volontà di Dio, realmente e simbolicamente legata alla crypta (grotta) nellaquale si rifugiava. Questa può prefi gurare la ricerca continua della volontà del Padre,realizzata nell’obbedienza lungo tutta la sua vita. Egli infatti, riassumendo lasua esperienza spirituale nel testo mistico delle Lodi di Dio Altissimo, chiama DioRifugio e Sicurezza, Custode, Protettore e Difensore, e pure Quiete. Il che, vale adire, che è in Dio che Francesco trova il luogo di rifugio e la persona che gli garantiscee procura la sicurezza per fargli sperimentarne infi ne la quiete. Fondamentaleperò rimane la regola: la sicurezza in Dio trova chi, nell’atteggiamento obbedientee fi ducioso, nella volontà di Dio pone la propria. Può essere la metaforica cryptarefugii a far intuire il mistero dell’obbedienza nella sua dinamica, nella quale l’uomopartecipa attivamente e nella quale scopre la sicurezza e la quiete.
Summary – One of the things most frequently studied by various authors is theobedience lived by St. Francis and the instructions in this respect found in his writings.This refl ection, with the particular attention it gives to semantic and philologicalpeculiarities, can help one discover the internal dynamic involved in theact of obedience. Thus, the reading of the episode of Jesus before Pilate prior to his passion as recounted in the second and longer version of the Later Admonitionand Exhortation to the Brothers and Sisters of Penance proves to be important.The way the event is narrated reveals, in fact, the peculiarities of how Francissaw Jesus’ relationship with the Father. In this context the hagiographic accountgiven by Thomas of Celano regarding Francis’ experience as a youth in search ofGod’s will, really and symbolically tied to the crypt (cave) where he took refuge,acquires special meaning. This can prefi gure the continuous pursuit of the Father’swill, lived in obedience throughout his lifetime. In fact, he returns to this spiritualexperience in the mystical text of the Praises of God when he calls God Refugeand Security, Custodian, Protector and Defender, and Rest. It is worth stating thatit is in God that Francis fi nds a place of refuge and the person who guarantees andprovides for his security that makes him at last experience rest. Yet, the basic normholds, namely, security in God is found by those who place their own wills into thewill of God in obedience and faithfulness. The metaphor of the crypta refugii canoffer an intuition into the mystery of obedience in its dynamic, in which a persontakes an active part and in which security and rest are found.
