Brassaï is one of the most celebrated photographers in history. In the early 1930s, he set out with his camera on long nocturnal walks through Paris. His depictions of the people and environments that emerged when darkness fell over the city became his breakthrough. During his wanderings, he also discovered the graffiti of the streets, which he went on to document for several decades. This catalogue includes more than 160 photographs together with a text by Brassaï himself and a newly written essay by the French author Nina Bouraoui.
